Nicky Audley

As well as teaching on this course, Nicky is a DSA appointed study skills tutor for university students across the UK. With a Post Graduate Certificate in Specific Learning Difficulties (dyslexia), she also screens and assesses for dyslexia (non DSA).

Nicky began as a youth worker who taught basic skills to 16-19-year-old NEETS (not in education, employment or training), so quickly learned that sessions needed to be student-centred, interesting and interactive. After she gained a qualification in youth work, Nicky then became a tutor of English before progressing on to a post-16 teaching degree. 

During this time, she also taught Functional Skills English at a local Adult Learning Centre for a number of years, which came with a range of barriers and obstacles for her students to overcome. Nicky has been a member of PATOSS since 2015.
